Jason Wyatt is a lifelong Dearborn County resident who has dedicated his adult life to service — first in the United States Army and then in the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department. Over 28 years in the Army and 22 years in local law enforcement, including service as a Patrol Sergeant, Jason led from the front while working directly with citizens across the county.
Grounded in the values of loyalty, duty, integrity, and respect, Jason believes the Sheriff answers to the people — not politics. As a husband, father, and grandfather, he understands that public safety is personal. He is running to ensure the Sheriff’s Office remains independent, transparent, and accountable to the citizens it serves.
Service to Country
Jason Wyatt began his career of service shortly after graduating from Lawrenceburg High School when he enlisted in the United States Army. Over the course of 28 years—serving in both active duty and the reserves—he worked as a Military Police officer, upholding law and order while supporting fellow service members at home and abroad.
During his military career, Jason deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan, where he operated in high-pressure environments that demanded discipline, sound judgment, and leadership under stress. His time in the Army reinforced the core values that continue to guide him today: loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage.
Service to Community
While serving in the military, Jason simultaneously built a 22-year career with the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department. Assigned to the Patrol Division, he worked directly with residents across the county—responding to emergencies, investigating incidents, and maintaining public safety in both town and rural areas.
Jason rose to the rank of Sergeant, serving as a patrol supervisor responsible for leading deputies in the field, coordinating responses, and ensuring department standards were upheld. His leadership emphasized professionalism, accountability, and constitutional responsibility.
Through decades of daily interaction with citizens, Jason gained firsthand knowledge of the issues facing Dearborn County families and businesses. That local experience shapes his understanding of what the Sheriff’s Office must prioritize moving forward.

His vision is rooted in common-sense public safety—balancing firm enforcement of the law with fairness and respect for individual rights. He believes deputies should be well-trained, well-led, and supported, and that the community should always have confidence in the integrity of its Sheriff.
Jason is not running to build a political career. He is running to serve.
